A Therapeutic Lifestyle

The following is from Mary Harvey AKA Puran Gian Kaur (see list of teachers for contact details) who teaches Kundalini Yoga  for seniors to groups such as Active Retirement, Irish Country Women’s Association, COPD and other women’s groups in the Mayo area.
“My kundalini yoga teaching experience spans ten years now, beginning when I retired from full time employment.
My general yoga experience began some years before in my early 30s, where I discovered the healing, supportive & empowering aspects yoga gave me, during some more challenging periods of life.
Ever since then, practising many aspects of yoga’s eight limbs on an almost daily basis, I have explored, experienced and enjoyed many styles of this deeply therapeutic lifestyle and practice, which eventually brought me to discover kundalini yoga in 2005…subsequently certifying as a teacher in 2009 after completing my training over a 12 month period.
To me kundalini yoga is a daily physical, mental and spiritual practice, which continues to support me through the kaleidoscope of life, with its many twists, turns and colours.
My teaching has gone from strength to strength since certifying, which I chose to do to take my practise and knowledge to a deeper level, both personally, as well as a teacher. On a personal level, it supports me to stay fit, healthy and active into my older years, so that I am able to enjoy this time with ease and grace.”
